The Learning Revolution

The WSLN member's response to the Government's 'Informal Adult Learning - Shaping the Way Ahead' was made available.  At long last, and as promised, the wait for the government response is finally over with The Learning Revolution Paper now available!

Key points include:

  • Recognition of informal adult learning on personal wellbeing.
  • Government departments to join up providing synchronisation of funding.
  • A future framework to be created to help on directing organisations to deliver.
  • Promotion of starting self organised learning groups.
  • Need to see a greater link up between sectors.
  • Recognition of the leadership role of Local Education Authorities in securing a broad range of learning opportunities.
  • Launching a festival of learning in the Autumn 2009.
  • Need to increase older people's learning opportunities.
